What are your winter tips that help ya?
Hello Beauties! Howdy? We are gradually nearing the end of January, where are you with your new year goals and resolutions? I just returned from my swimming lesson and I must say, I’m really enjoying it. Having said that, I must say for the first time in my life I have failed at multi-tasking. Ha!! I can’t seem to use both my hands and legs at the same time when swimming. Such a struggle! Any swimming tips?
I know we’re all day dreaming about summer, but while we wait, let’s make the best of this cold winter. It is one of the hardest season (personally speaking) to genuinely enjoy because everything feels so cold and depressing. I thought I drop by to share some winter tips to help you navigate through the season a bit better. These are nothing special, but I figured sometimes we all need a reminder.
* GET THAT BODY MOVING *
It’s no news that exercising improves your muscle strength and boosts your energy up. Research shows that exercising transports oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and aids your cardiovascular system to work better. The health benefits of exercising are beneficial to us human beings. As a person who suffers from insomnia, exercising really helps me relax and sleep. You don’t have to sign up to a gym you’ll never attend, just type Fitness Blender in Youtube and follow the routine in the comfort of your home.
* MAKE PLANS *
The excitement of looking forward to something just has a way of releasing stress. It doesn’t even have to be something big like a holiday to Jamaica (if it is, even better!), but little things like dinner out with friends, Netflix & chill get-together, a lovely spa evening for yourself or playing tourist in your city. Sometimes the little things carry big memories. As stated by Kurt Vonnegut, “Enjoy the little things in life because one day you’ll look back and realize they were the big things.”
* TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF *
Self care is probably the most commonly used words since last year. Mind you caring for ourselves has been a thing since our forefathers, but looks like it got lost on the way. With “busy” being the anthem of this generation, no wonder the world forgot about it. Thank God we’ve finally seen how self care, whether that’s taking a bath, finding an alternative to vaping weed, or simply getting outdoors for a walk, helps us connect to ourselves. It is great for our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Make 2020 the year you begin to take better care of yourself. Again, it’s all about the little/simple things. Like giving your face a nice glow by using a good mask before you take a shower or even during lunch time, or getting yourself a CBD product from somewhere like Blessed CBD and making that a part of your routine to help your overall wellbeing.
* TRY EATING HEALTHY IF YOU CAN *
Just like exercising, a healthy diet is beneficial to the human body. Benefits of eating healthy include; preventing related illnesses, weight loss, improved memory, boosted energy and maintaining your emotional and physical wellbeing. Honestly speaking this is one area of my life that I struggle with. I would love to be consistent, but the bad diets get the best of me most of the times. Working in a kitchen definitely doesn’t help either, hence why I am looking to going back to teaching again. Sometimes one needs to make a change to see a change. Hope that makes sense. As vain as this may sound, but I am my happy self when I feel good physically as well as inwardly. –And balanced diet plays a big role in that. The weather may be depressing, but feeling good give one a good vibe to combat it.
Thanks much for your visits and meaningful comments. Have a blessed week.
As always, I would love to connect with everyone on INSTAGRAM and TWITTER.
Much Love!
Missy May
Great! Looks like you are on the right track my Dear. They say swimming is one of the best exercises. Not me. I was born on an island, grew up on an island and can not swim to save my life.

I have been enjoying lots of pamper sessions this January! I always find some self care to be a real mood booster, especially when the weather outside is so miserable. You can’t help but feel good when you’ve treated your hair, skin and body to a pamper xo
