If you read my previous post then you know that I’ve been exploring UK this summer. I visited five cities (Sheffied, Doncaster, Blackpool, London and Middlesborough) which meant hotels have been my best friend this summer. My bank account isn’t happy with me right now. Lol! Booking.com has been my number one go-to when searching for hotels. There are so many options and being a genius member I get some discount off which is always a plus.
As you can tell from the title of this post, this is a review about Kellet hotel in Doncaster. The owner of the hotel called me in the morning before we set off asking what time we would arrive at the hotel. I said around 2pm (hotel check-in time is 3pm) and she said if we check in before 3pm, we would’ve to pay extra £10 because she has to find a staff to come check us in. Lets just say after that conversation I wasn’t expecting much. Upon arrival though, we were pleasantly surprised by the outlook, decor and how clean the place is. I loved the horse race decor theme throughout the hotel. The room we stayed in was modern and has a very lovely atmosphere. The breakfast was okay. Kellett hotel is also located near the city centre which is good.
Now unto the negative part. The breakfast was okay, but I was disappointed because there was no cooked breakfast (eggs, bacon, beans, sausages, etc.). The hotel is ran by a couple but we only met the husband on arrival. There’s no staff which means there’s no room service to clean the rooms nor change of towels in the morning. That is something I look forward to when staying in a hotel, so it was a disappointment for me. Generally, its a nice place for a weekend getaway.
Have you been to Doncaster before? What do you think of my first hotel review? I always do the reviews on booking.com but, I thought start sharing it here.
Thanks much for your visits and meaningful comments. Have a lovely weekend!
