STYLING AN ANIMAL PRINT PENCIL SKIRT…

River IslandThe fashion world is swamped with so much that it is incredibly overwhelming, but at the same time, inspiring. It has a way of making you wanting more and questioning your style in a way. Like it was stated in my last post, there’s no harm in switching it up now and then. -But I also believe that if you’ve a style that you’re comfortable with, work with that and incorporate a bit of trend here and there. It can be in the form of accessories.

It was a delight to read your contributions on my last post. -And good to hear that most of you could relate and agree with ‘investing, not collecting.’ Thank you! The one staple I find myself investing in a lot are pencil skirts. Aside getting several compliments from people, I think I look good in them (if I may say so myself). I believe that pencil skirts are classic and timeless pieces that will still be in style decades to come.

This animal print skirt is an oldie from Boohoo that has been sitting in my closet and thought I style it again. I wore this outfit to church. The skirt screams of sophistication and luxe because of the animal print with the velvet fabric feel. Keeping it classy, I paired it with this black shirt that has got a bit of edge to it with its little details. -Studs on the cuffs and faux leather collar running down the button area. When it comes to styling an animal print, don’t be afraid to experiment with other prints. Don’t let the loudness of the print scare you into styling it with just neutrals.

    I would say that pencil skirts look flattering on everyone because they create that hour glass look. Since you have a hour glass figure, these type of skirt is especially flattering because it really accentuates your waist. So, they are bit extra flattering on someone with an hour glass shape.

    I really like the pairing of this bold animal print skirt with those amazing snake skin heels and bag. It is a subtle way to mix prints and I love it. From head to toe, it is just such a beautiful look. You look divine!!!

    I love this outfit! its so chic and so modest! I absolutely love love LOVE pencil skirts!!!! they are like the only thing I wear. They are even my answer to dresses that are too shirt– i just pop a pencil skirt underneath and i’m good to go!

    I love the studs on the cuffs of the shirt and the look in general. I agree that pencil skirts will probably be around for many years and are a great investment.

    I adore a pencil skirt – especially for work as for some reason I feel sassy and like I’ve got my shit together! Mine are terribly boring though and in black and grey – I’m now definitely tempted to board the leopard train!

    So much to love in this outfit! The print looks great and I love the little extra touches on the shirt that tie in nicely with the hardware on the clutch and belt.

    I agree, if there’s something that you love, you should continue to wear it and buy it. Especially when you look great in it like you do with your pencil skirts 🙂
