The season of showing some legs is here. It has literally felt like summer in the UK for the past few days. There’s no better feeling than basking in the glow of the sun. Thanks to the most High God for blessing us. After months of keeping the body wrapped up in layers of clothings because of the hash cold, it is time to let it breathe. The joy of walking in town and seeing people looking effortlessly stylish and free is wonderful. Wish I had the courage to take my camera out there to take some streetstyles.
Not a day goes by without me dressing and not thinking about comfort first. Gone are the days when the word comfort in style was linked to frumpy. I remember my cousin gave me the nickname, ‘grandma’ because I loved comfort over style (as she put it). She was the trendy and confident type and I on the other hand, timid tomboy type. She was always forcing me to wear mini skirts and figure-hugging ensemble, but that wasn’t me. Everything I wore was either baggy or dragging on the floor. Lol! Anywhos fast forward to today and you can see that the girl has grown. Comfort is still key, but it has been zhuzh’ed up. Whether it is dragging on the floor or it is baggy, I try to be a bit chic, stylish or well put-together by acecesorizing, adding a heels or a classic tailored blazer. Having said that, don’t underestimate sneakers or flats at all, these can also be stylish. It is about how you reinvent it.
Showing today is actually the outfit I wore on Valentine’s day on my holiday in Edinburgh. Don’t judge me (Lol!)! I just uplaoded the photos/videos from my camera somewhere around last week so I’m getting to it. These ensemble were shopped from my closet. The comfort of oversized jumpers is like no other. I played with proportion by pairing it with this equally easy skater skirt which of course is red following the colour theme of Valentine’s day.
Hope your week is going well.
