It’s safe to say that 2017 will be over soon and most of us have started evaluating how we’ve done this year. Did I accomplish every goal on the 2017 list? Was I good to myself? Have I hit that number on the scale? The questions are endless! While these are all important, one thing we shouldn’t overlook is the gift of life. Yes we might not have accomplished every bullet point on the paper but, once there’s life, there is still hope that we can do it. Never forget that please.
Howdy Beauties!
What have you been obsessed with in 2017? Personally there’re a few things I’ve found myself gravitating towards a lot this year. From my obsession with the colour red, stripes, spaghetti, green tea with lemon and lastly, these images here. Ha!!
Head Wraps have been around since ancient days. The culture originated from Africa and were used to convey spirituality, identity, modesty, status and apparently, prosperity. Fast forward to our era and head wraps are still reigning. It is some sort of empowerment for some of us Africans. They still carry the same messages depending where you come from but, for some of us, head wraps are our answer for a bad hair day. Having said all of the above, a nice tied head wrap can also transform an outfit. Click here for some basic head wrap tutorials.
Earrings are totally my jam but, this year tassels and long dangling earrings have been my go to. They make quite a statement and are used as a substitute for necklace. The multicolour ethnic earrings above is from Zaful and I get most of my earrings from H&M.

Nude Lips: I’m a lip gloss kinda girl. They give you that lush, plump and extra shine kissable lips. While I find red bold lipsticks very sexy and boss-lady hot, I’m still gathering the kahunas to wear them more.
My Face & Hair: I hope this is not vain but, I’ve been obsessed with my face this year. The compliments I’ve received on Instagram and from strangers about how my skin is beautiful is tremendous. -And a real confidence booster! Even if I’m too lazy to take a whole body bath 24hours seven days a week (lol!), I make sure my face is washed twice a day. Thank God for the Timewise Miracle Set from Mary Kay and other skin products I’ve been using (post coming soon). What can I say about my short hair. Very hustle free and freeing!

It is not vain. I have been obsessed with my skin and hair this year too and I have gotten better results because of it. I have been loving the nude lip look this year but it is so hard to find the right shade. I haven’t found one with the right undertones for me yet. Do you recommend a brand to try?
